PLEASE KEEP CALLING:
Senate plans to vote in the dark on fast-track ACA repeal!
They promised to do it on Day One, but thanks to your outcry, Congress is still struggling six months later to repeal the Affordable Care Act. Today and the next few days are crucial, as the Senate rushes toward passing a repeal bill that neither they nor their constituents have seen. Please call both of your U.S. senators TODAY AND FRIDAY and tell them to VOTE NO!
The Senate’s options to repeal the Affordable Care Act (ACA) are few and narrowing. Now they’re scrambling to put together 50 votes, at any cost, to continue a process that could take coverage away from tens of millions of people, cut billions of dollars from Medicaid, roll back consumer protections, hike premiums, and deliver a huge tax cut to the wealthiest Americans.
Alabama’s senators have little to say about the unseen bills or the secret process and have avoided public meetings with constituents on health care. Meanwhile, people across Alabama have called, written, rallied and camped out to protect Medicaid, affordable health coverage and consumer protections under the ACA. This outpouring of support, combined with similar efforts in all 50 states, is working – but we have to keep it going.
Your voice has helped keep hope alive – and we need you to keep speaking up a little longer! By now, you know the drill: Please call both of your U.S. senators TODAY AND FRIDAY and tell them: “Repealing the ACA will hurt children, seniors, and people with disabilities. It will close hospitals. And it will wreck our General Fund budget. Please stand up for Alabamians and VOTE NO!”
