Call for Proposals

The National Association of Social Workers – Alabama Chapter invites you to submit a workshop/presentation proposal for our annual conference, to be held virtually on April 9-10, 2026. Proposals are due no later than January 16, 2026. Notification of acceptance is January 30, 2026.

Tracks include Clinical, Case Management, and Macro. Examples of session topics include the following and more:

Proposal Categories:

  1. Presentations: Engaging and informative presentations that explore new research findings, innovative practices, and emerging trends in the field of social work.
  2. Workshops: Interactive sessions that provide hands-on learning experiences, skill development, and practical strategies for social work professionals.
  3. Panels: Discussions featuring a panel of experts exploring diverse perspectives on a specific theme or issue in social work.

Proposal Submission Guidelines:

  1. Proposals must include the following information:
    • Title of the Proposal
    • Name, Affiliation, and Contact Information of the Presenter(s)
    • Brief Biographical Information of Presenter(s) and Resume(s)/ Vitae(s)
    • Proposal Category and Track
    • Abstract (maximum 300 words) Summarizing Content of the Proposal
    • Detailed Description of the Proposal, Including Objectives, Key Takeaways, and Relevance to the Theme
    • Audio-Visual or Technical Requirements, if applicable
  2. Only One (1) Proposal per Presenter / Group
  3. CEUs will be provided for workshop/presenter presentation only.
  4. Proposals should be submitted online to: Workshop Proposal Application   

Selection Criteria: Proposals will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

  • Relevance and Significance to the Conference Theme
  • Clarity and Coherence of the Proposal
  • Innovation and Originality of the Content
  • Practical Applicability and Potential for Impact
  • Presenter's Expertise and Experience in the Subject Matter
  • Contribution to the Overall Diversity of Topics and Perspectives at the Conference
